Lead Singer: Roger Hughes – Began singing with Breakdown in 1966, remained with the group when it became Haze and evolved into Phaze2. Roger has wide musical tastes and his influences include the Doobie Brothers, Stevie Winwood and Graham Parker. |
Drummer: Richard Hughes – Began performing with the Astrals in 1962, which, with some personnel changes, became “Money Jungle”. Richard and his Premier drum kit joined Breakdown in 1969, his first gig being at the “Top Spot” at Ross-on-Wye, supporting the “Troggs”. |
Keyboard: Terry Hughes – Following his brother Richard, Terry supplemented the band in 1970 bringing his Hammond L100 /Leslie and Fender Rhodes (those were the days). His influences include: Booker T, JTQ, Wynder K Frog and Rick Wakeman. Now using a Yamaha 9000 Pro Workstation to arrange numbers and place a Phaze2 stamp on them, Terry manages to find some “unique” chords |
Guitar and Vocals: Dave Bradley – Founder member of the group, then the Soundbreakers, in 1963. Seeing Cliff Ward and the Cruisers play in the Hall of Stourport School inspired him to buy a guitar and form a band. His early influences were Hank B Marvin, Steve Cropper and Graham Drew and he still enjoys playing his original Fender Telecaster through a Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 amp. |
Bass Guitar: Trevor Jones – A founding member of Cliff Ward’s Cruisers and for many years a member of local band, the Reflections, Trevor joined the Phaze2 in 2007. He still enjoys playing his trusty 1963 Fender Precision bass and his solid playing complements Richard’s drums to form the rhythm section. Trevor grew up with Tamla Motown and, with the Cruisers, was instrumental in introducing the sound to local audiences in the 1960s. |
Lead Guitar: Gary Tolley – Formerly a member of the Reflections with Trevor and guitarist with Dave Lacey, Gary brought his Les Paul and Fender rig to Phaze2 in 2009. Gary’s interest in music began at school and his very early influences were Hank B Marvin and of course Bert Weedon. |
